I'll tell you who the greatest of all time was, it was Joey Ramone. There were a lot of kids at my school who could play "The Stairway to Heaven" guitar solo but who couldn't play three chords of a Ramones song because they didn't have the strength or ability to do it.

basically check out what this guy said. I found Blaze through Lucinda. Gurf Morlix was Lucinda's lead guitarist for a while and he's made an album of Blaze Foley covers. Kris Kristofferson is arguably the most famous. I don't like any of these artists as much as Blaze but I'm obviously biased.
