What's up /mu/
I've been playing around with synths and samplers and things for a while, but I recently became interested in using a daw.
The issue is that I don't know where to begin looking for plugins, and I don't want to drop any serious cash just yet.
Can any producers talk about what they use, where they look for plugins and maybe recommend some stuff?
Thanks
Thanks
that depends on what kind of music you want to make

this is a case where brutal honesty is neccessary. plugins aren't cheap. if you want to seriously make music then just be warned that it's not a cheap hobby.
Of course if you aren't THAT serious and just want to have fun then there are tons of free plugins for just about any function, google is your friend.
I work with Ableton and Maschine, and I'm learning something with MAX/MSP (extremely complicated software, but with infinite potential)
what'd you like to know? I usually spend an hour weekly, looking for freebies and new stuff on websites and forums

try the internet.
I get most of my plug-ins off Rutracker.
It depends what your goal is.
Do you want a godly waveshape editor that is very easy to understand for beginners, good FX, and a very straightforward interface? Get ElectraX
Do you want an incredible sampler with thousands of sounds, filters, waves, and FX? Get Omnisphere.
Do you want a good library with lots of sound expansions that require minimal tweaking to reach good and highly desired sounds without much work? Get Nexus.
Do you want some chinese piece of shit poorfags will stand behind for the rest of their life? Get Sylenth.
