That's my AOTY for 1971
>>74854397
literally thousands of them

so good, the fucked up production makes that album sound 100x better than the rest of sly stone's discography. Blew my mind when I first heard it.

i was blown away listening to this after listening to d'angelo for years. voodoo might be another album rarely talked about in comparison to black messiah
>>74854463
one of my first music memories is listening to this while playing teen titans
/mu/ rarely talks about her and I wouldn't have it any other way
>>74854497
this was talked about at least 10 million times when it came out
honestly despicable that /mu/ routinely ignores the Geti King. "/mu/core" is worthless without Dennehy being acknowledged

Goddamn I love this record more and more every day.

I think it's their best, I don't listen to the crickets but almost every song is perfect. sophtware slump is great too but has some stuff I wish they'd done differently, like the E Knievel interlude was filler-y to me, Weeping Willow kind of boring. Crystal Lake is amazing though

>Grimes album that appears every day in some thread or another
GET THE FUCK OUT OF HERE
there are a few other albums I'd put up but this one gets my pick because it's a pop album with decidedly anti-pop lyrics, save for one song (Tonight)
legitimately one of the most creative metal albums in the past decade. the first time i heard it it actually scared me. so bretty gud desu.
give it a shot, but i reccomend max volume on speakers if possible. gotta feel the rumblies
Have never seen a comment about this album.
Excellent stoner metal, do recommend.
best indie rock album of the 2000's

Fucking masterpiece.
Influenced everything from Prince to Exile on Main St to Miles Davis to D'Angelo to Outkast to Radiohead
I only see it sometimes in chart threads
