I'm a fan of Gibson guitars, most notably Les Pauls, and SGs.

Rickenbackers are fine guitars if you want to sound like The Byrds, or play jangly shoe gaze pop, but their sound is very limiting. I love that kind of music, but I don't play that kind of music, so give me a Gibson over a Rick any day of the week.
