How do you start a band when you are an adult and don't have that many friends?
Is it even possible?
>>74851028
this is my problem as well
>>74851028
probly not, you just make cryptic downtempo electronic music now if youre in that situation
>>74851121
...fuck, at least im not the only one

It seems almost ridiculously unfair, like you have to be some kind of outgoing extroverted person to be a musician when in reality a lot of the most talented artists are probably introverted. Makes me wish I was good at art or writing or something instead.

tfw no modular synths
you can always take the Leo Kottke or John Fahey route

Craigslist dude. How is this not common knowledge? Sure you might have to weed your way through some lame ass auditions, but you'll eventually find some worthwhile musicians to work with on there.

Almost all the musicians I know are from CL.
just play every instrument yourself

This. Having full control over your music is the way to go.
>>74852179
it's hard to bounce song ideas off yourself
>>74852183
as long as you like fuck what other people think

Do what MC Ride did

Not really. Just play a random chord progression and then change it up. Eventually it'll evolve into a song of its own as ideas spring into your head while you make minor changes. Then show the song to some friends who are into music. Just make sure your friends are willing to be honest with you about the quality of your work. Having a bunch of Yes-men who say everything you make is great won't help you grow as an artist.
