Honestly, I know it's a very controversial opinion but Goodbye and Hello is my favorite
I think that might be because I got into his discography chronologically like you would with any artist so when I heard Goodbye and Hello I was so blown away and thought this was what everyone was talking about and then realized it wasn't at all what people loved about him
That said, Lorca and Starsailor are fucking great and I like most of his albums apart from his debut but Goodbye and Hello I've listened to dozens if not a hundred times so for me it's a lot more of a personal classic than the later ones
I love that acoustic performance of Song to the Siren he did on that 1968 tv show so much I did get the lyrics to the entire song tattooed on my back (though I understand he didn't write the lyrics, it was that version that sparked the inspiration for the tattoo)
