Can someone please explain this album to me? It seems extremely formulaic and excessive, especially with the "ambient" parts. I just feel that with the amount of ideas they had on the album, they could have finetuned it and made the album significantly shorter. I want to get into the album more, can someone help

Ya I get that completely, but they just start with a riff and then they build it up grdually and then get louder, then stop and then do it over again with a different riff. That's why I feel like there's something I'm missing because people praise the album so much
