This album came out when I was 14, my good friend had bought it for me on CD for my birthday because we loved Brand New. This album wasn't quite what we had expected but it quickly became both of our favorites. I have a lot of good memories with this album and her but one awful one.

When I was 20 she hung herself, when they found her this album was playing on repeat. I can remember going over because we were supposed to hang out and chill that day and seeing EMS outside her house and her mom was standing there talking to police. She saw me and just let out the most god awful guttural scream I've ever heard. She ran over to me and just collapsed into my shoulder. It took a while to process what was happening and eventually I started to hate this album. Every time I tried to listen to it all I could remember was that scream and the look of emptiness in her moms eyes.

I've grown to love the album again. I listen to it when I just need something to help me get through the day. I listen to it on the days that I miss her and I go to her grave site and listen to it when I've got a lot on my mind and sometimes I sit there and "talk to her" as a way of coping with stress.

Maybe that all sounds mental but it helps.

I was going through a situation in the winter where my best friend was living with me with her boyfriend. Me and her bf had been friends since elementary school. Well my mom brings in this drug addict to try and help and she falls for him. She dumps first bf for him and he leaves and cuts contact. Guy 2 is abusive smashes things, and mentally abuses her. I would literally spend every night crying to Kid A trying to resist kicking his ass. Things got better after he was kicked out and she finally left. Fuckers rotting in jail now apparently

If you listen to The Wonder Years and haven't heard of Aaron West and the Roaring Twenties, you should check it out. This is Dan Campbell's (lead singer for TWY) side project. He deals with a lot more "Adult problems" in this album comparative to his stuff with TWY. Sings about his divorce, his wifes miscarriage, moving back home, etc.

God damn, alright. This album sound tracked the WORST summer of my life. Holy shit.

>Which causes me to flip my shit completely
>Get so frustrated, nervous and scared over everything happening out of my control I bash a hole in the wall with my head

>I get sent to a psychiatrist (one of many this summer) and finally get diagnosed with Pyschosis
>Get out on antipsychotics which help
>Took the train and walked for an hour just so I could continue seeing a therapist I had met in college
>No job
>No friends
>Worsening mental condition
>Get back up to college ready to make a fresh start
>Cant contain my weirdness/autism, get cops called on me for sleeping in empty buildings on campus (I had a perfectly good dorm to sleep in, I just liked being in empty buildings)
>Therapist in college is mad
>Symptoms of psychosis keep getting worse and worse
>Stop sleeping, start acting weirder and weirder
>Have a full blown panic attack in the therapists office
>Pyschiatrist up in college diagnoses me with Schizoaffective disorder, ups my dosage of antipsychotics
>Feel a little better now

This was over a year ago. All I can remember when listening to this album was how much I related to the characters and themes. I thought that at least someone knows what it's like to have something so fundamentally wrong with you.

I stopped taking my meds this summer. Going to see what happens.
