He doesn't. If anything I think of that serious bass tone from Jesus Lizard, Breeders, Jawbreaker, etc. when I think of Albini production.

A big part of the albini sound is just not fucking around with the sound. he doesn't add echo or make the mix smoother or wetter or some bullshit. just very dry with high instrument separation from the individual mike setup
