arca btfo
>>
>>74831687
(((cohen)))
>>
audibly kek'd
>>
remember cohen said hopelessness was trash

how come ian and zoe camp are the only two pitchfork writers who actually have distinct voices and aren't afraid to call out their coworkers on liking middle of the road trash for political reasons
>>
>>74831774

yeah desu Cohen has objectively the best taste in all of music criticism. Never really had a review where I've seriously disagreed
>>
>>74831800
agreed.
>>
>>74831687
I dont get it
>>
Arca is quite boring desu. I like hearing his stuff but I wouldn't say it's really all that great. Mutant was so fucking hard to sit through. An hour? ugh
>>
>>74831847
mutant is his best work easily. rest of his stuff is meh
>>
Arca is pretentious dreck, glad one of the bigwigs had the balls to say it.
>>
>>74831842
He's basically saying, like the VMAs, Arca is not good and writers don't really like it but they just sit through it and then talk about its importance.
>>
wtf I love Ian Cohen now
>>
>>74831774
Arca is good though, how can you listen to Xen and not see how good it is?
>>
yeah cause writers "enjoy" everything they write....
>>
>>74832362
The first time I listened to Xen it just made me want to relisten Autechre and Pan Sonic instead.
>>
>>74831687
Why are you stalking/ following random writers?

Hes actually criticizing Lorde album.

And plus theres no btfo
Arca been winning

- produced tracks for Kanye West album
- produced tracks for Fka twigs album
- produced tracks for Frank Ocean album
- produced two albums for Bjork
>>
>>74832393
Literally sounds nothing like those my dude. How can you compare autechre and Arca? that's definitely the weirdest comparison I've ever heard.

>>
>>74832439
how are the first 3 good
>>
>>74832461
you missed the part where he uh, made his point.
>>
>>74832456
Haha, alright buddy.
>>
>>74832470
good = winning = success = Acra's career
>>
>>74831774
does zoe camp have nice feet
asking for a friend
>>
>>74832473
you missed the part where I uh, made my point.
>>
>>74832575
Your point meant nothing in regards to anything? it's obvious that the important part of what he said was not the part you picked to respond to, so I just thought you should know that.
>>
>>74831774
desu Ian and Zoe are the only P4K writers that I have actively sought out reviews from and I look forward to seeing whatever they in particular review next.
>>
>>74832611
His point was that that anon was stalking some random writer. That anon responded by saying that was not just some random writer and is actually very well known, thus not making his behavior unusual. What is the problem here?
>>
>>74832611
>Your point meant nothing in regards to anything?
>Why are you stalking/ following random writers?

>the important part of what he said
Did I say I was responding to that? I guess the new 4chan rules is you have to respond the poster's main point. Gotta get reading on the rule book then!
>>
>>74831687
How is he allowed to do this?
Is he somehow not aware that Arca is gay?
>>
>>74832739
Well excuse me, I thought for a second you were trying to say something in regards to the thread. My bad.
>>
>>74832660
his initial comment on him stalking him was so obviously a weak jab, the meat of his comment was the entire bulk just below it. How is this difficult to see?
>>
>>74832757
Despite the narrative and agenda, gays are actually NOT immune to criticism. Doesn't matter if he's gay, shitty music is shitty music.
But I also understand this post is satire.
>>
>>74832660
>>74832461
Hes not reknowed or famous. Hes just one of those oldest on Pitchfork and have a cocky / self-important style...

He dont have a following or impact of people like Fantano or Chritgau. Even SCARUFFI is more important.

Most of these writers gains atenttion on Pitchfork because of some meme situation.

For Zoe Camp shes a meme-in-a-person.

Remember reviews on Pitchfork comes from group-rating so theres always these wrtiters who oravvrates their 'favorites' and these who dislikes some artists. Normal.

Yeah, COMPLETELY unrelated to the thread. My bad.

^ ^ ^ ^
>>
>>74832907
ever heard of nitpicking? and can you not convey your
>>
>>74832907
emotions without a reaction image?
>>
>>74832948
LOL, no do YOU know what nitpicking is? I never directed to any flaw. I was merely responding to a component of a person's post. There's literally no problem here and yet you are making one, you fucking retard.
>>
>>74832975
why are you so autistic?
>>
>>74832986
LMAO you attempted to reduct from his main point by attempting to point out that Cohen does in fact have a following despite his presence meaning next to nothing.
>>
>>74833011
I don't go around defending Pitchfork celebs, but I guess I'm the autistic one here.
>>
>>74832863
Most of you guys are struggle "producers" who overrates the basic shit that Autechre have been putting in the last years and feels envious of dudes like Arca, BOOTS and SOPHIE that are making money and touring.

They are in a place very high which thousands of real producers dream to reach one day, i would not think they are some sort of villains instead i want to be one of them just lile you all lol.
>>
>>74833055
what
>>
>>74833035
You are complete fucking retard. I did not attempt to "reduct" from anything. I merely responded to something a person said. How is this so hard for you to understand?

>>74833054
>responding to something that was said
>"you're just defending Pitchfork celebs"
grow up
>>
>>74833110
haha you realize that message boards don't reveal intent right? No one gives a fuck what your "intent" was because we can't KNOW what your intent was. Do you think we can see you? Do you think we can read your thoughts?
>>
People like you guys are probably why he made his account private.
>>
>>74833054
While we on this lets cement this
Pitchfork doesn't have any web celeb
Pitchfork is just the scores, which is too valuable and can literally sky rocket artists careers.

I think they make alot of money with these lucky numbers.
I think too Fantano is more genuine in this review game, he bases everything on his taste.
Fader? MTV? Rolling Stone? fucking faggots industry whores
>>
>>74833055
You're nuts
>>
>>74833148
...I never said that
>>
>>74833188
I made the comment and I agree with you that they don't have web celebs, but I disagree that they skyrocket artists careers.

Ben Frost has gotten nothing but fantastic reviews on pitchfork for years, yet he's just as known as he's always been, with a slightly larger following. The only artists who "sky rocket" are those who were destined to anyway, like Grimes for example. I don't attribute her rise to pitchfork, but to Genesis, Oblivion, etc.....
>>
>>74833231
>I did not attempt to reduct...

You just disclaimed what your intent wasn't...
>>
>>74831687
Ian Cohen talking about electronic music LUL
>>
Why is arca even popular? His music is meh as fuck. It's because he's queer, isn't it?
>>
>>74833301
it is
>>
>>74833275
arca isn't electronic music
>>
>>74833319
sure my dude, Arca is rock now haha
>>
>>74833092
Dude even big producers have a prime Autechre is past their prime. No one praised elseq besides super fans and maybe Resident Advisor, their value on the music game is very low now.

Say what you want but dudes like Flume and Arca are rich right now and they worked their asses to make it in the hip hop tame, the golden business for electronic producers in the 21st century. This is a great achievement. T b h.

Niggas like Oneoh trix, SOPHIE and Dean Blunt are desperate desperate for a Drake, Kanye or even Eminem collaboration because gives you big money. Some of thieir music is dog shit but you can see how they push their asses to try this.
>>
>>74833335
he's avant-garde for poptimists
>>
>>74833337
appeal to wealth are the reason serious academics still don't take popular music as seriously as art music
>>
>>74833241
How do you expect to weird shit like the industrial crapscape of ben forst to do numbers?
The readers base of pitchfork is the same of gorillas vs bears so is obvious that catchy indie pop like Washed out and grimes are the ideal fit

indie blogs make it cool to like some artists they definitely helped to form Grimes fanbase, shes now one single to reach pop stardom according to some Billnoard especialist
>>
>>74833337
Dean Blunt would NEVER collab with Drake or Kanye, it'd be completely going against what he's trying to do.
>>
>>74833301
If his music were more catchy you would like him, i'm 100% certain
Hes not popular like Flume or Diiplo obviously

he can make a transition though with a more poppy album he got features as payment for production i think so he got Frank Ocean, Kanye and fka twigs for electropop singles

Hes trying to make money
are you living under a rock you idiot?

Hes in a sellout phase now using his last year "Hosted by DJ Scrow" praise push.

He literally have track from 2016 to recent 2017 with:

- Lil Yatchy (LIL YATCHY!!!)
- ASAP ROCKY
- Yung Lean

lolol hes trying to appeal to trap rap fans and make a slow transition

Struggle artists lile this are kind of pathetic

Offtopic: Dude i have seen this video of James Ferraro guy 3:00 AM IN NY with a fucking text to speech saying "money money momeyoney money money" lmfao this is top3 most ridicule momemt in music hess homeless
