post your recs to any newbie, personally I'd rec satanic warmaster and windir considering they were my gateway drug into black metal.
Fav bands, Upcoming albums excited for, predictions to TC Kings next 6/10 collab project, interesting album discoveries, cool stories with bm mates, ect.
Y'all excited for a wave of hot topic kids and scene-core blackened metalcore/deathcore coming into black metal like they know it and love because of the upcoming Lords of Chaos movie?

What in the world is stubborn black metal?
Goat-tier EP coming through.

the term I've given anyone's list because every time I posted this one here and called it 'essentials' I got shit because everyone had their own stubborn list of essentials (hence why I added the text). If I said Der Mys. . . , trans. . .., Dunk. . .., bleh. . . . . it would be too basic, if I listed the shit that was important to me it's not accurate, bleh

Amazing album, Velg Bort Vivet is my personal fav from it
Listened to this for the first time the other day, damn. I've got such a thing for black metal albums that use synths
hey guys you hard about this cool black metal band called Deafhaven theyre really cool and brutal
This is the ideal black metal demo. You may not like it, but this is what peak kvlt sounds like.

Enslaved did some of the coolest shit through the years, their early viking stuff to their mid psychedelic stuff to their later prog/black stuff, I love them all the way through (except for In Times, we don't talk about In Times. . .)

Prog Enslaved is shit though.
Is there any grim/misanthropic/raw as fuck bm with short songs? Basically want Horrid Cross but maybe a little easier on the ears?

everything from LLN was like that. The portugese Black Circle is the same way.

Below the Lights - Vertebrae was amazing, Aximo Ethica Odini was pretty good but a rad at some moments, Riitiir was alright. All throughout I thought they were a great band, they were like the blackened prog that Opeth tried to be but failed at everything after Damnation.

LLN and the Frenchies in general had a different twang than the black circle, had like a renisance romance sound to it while the black circle was wispy dungeon stuff, both great and all but french bm always gave me the feeling like I should be proud of something, I love it
