does anything beat the smooth sophisticated feel of James Ferraro?

i would not consider musch of ferraros music "smooth" although i do like music based around contemporary philosophy and social critique which his work fulfils. all of the pbr&b/ hip hop stuff he was doing between condo pets and human story 3 was awful sonically although interesting conceptually. hes back on track now with mutually intellectually and philospophically engaging work.
