Thoughts? Snagged her opheliac from a sharethread some odd years back. Anything else to compare?
That album was my intro to Emilie.
Of her body of work, my favorites would be her collection of "sonnets" which are simply poems in ASMR, and the acoustic half of Laced/Unlaced.
She is a beautiful and talented person. And quite the Euro-history buff, evidently. She's rarely mentioned on mew. Here have a song.

In answer to your second question: The Birthday Massacre, Alice in Videoland, and the Dresden Dolls come close in aesthetic, if not in narrative. That's a generalized statement, none of us are as young as we were.
It would depend on what aspect of her music you're partial to. What did you think of Opheliac? And what about now, some odd years later as you said.
