It is a touchy subject. If they died a natural death or even just drugged themselves to death then they might have made a big thing out of it. But Chester quite likely killed himself partly due to Chris killing himself. Reporting suicides has been shown over and over to promote more suicides from vulnerable people. Wouldn't be surprised if there wasn't a spike in the numbers for around this time among the fanbase demographic. So they most likely consciously avoided a tribute to them rather than a snub.

This is true, but still Linkin Park was just an product of an industry. Jeff Blue pretty much created that band, and the only reason they got a record deal is because of that guy. (Not for being great, but being a clause in a contract)

Seeing how Chester killed himself and spoke about his mental issues many times, it seems like the music was also made from the heart of the musicians behind the songs, so ther was more to it.
