That one's quite easy to explain, I feel. They're both artists with interests in other fields of music and that ended up interested in pushing the boundaries of their own genres through fusion while still keeping pop sensibilities. That said, how it matches up is actually quite uncanny, but it's not that surprising.
Kendrick's next album is going to be a masterpiece.
