I'd agree, but it's not unfair to say that The Cure at their peak were better than The Smiths at their peak

Different strokes for different folks, I reckon. In terms of instrumentals, they both have really good compositions, and in that end it's a matter of what aesthetic you prefer, and I think that also reflects in the lyrics, what with Morrisey doing his best to impersonate Oscar Wilde and Robert Smith's lyrics head first into Romanticism.

I dunno. Disintegration and Strangeways are neck and neck to me.
