Well, Paris often smells like piss, yes, and not all people are clean about their dogs shit. The Paris Metro is rather dirty too, but it's impossible to change at this point, although some new lines are completely fresh and new.
But Paris, even knowing that, is still a very beautiful city. I've been living here since i was born. I sometimes want to leave, because it's a capital, it's noisy, and some people are annoying, but at the same time, the cultural life, the bars, restaurants and so on are very addictive.
I've been to Phnom Penh and Rangoon this month, and it is terrible there. The smells in Rangoon, the dirty buildings are just awful.
