ITT: Name/talk about artists who opened for a band you like that you ended up liking as well. I saw Okkyung Lee open for Swans last night and I think pic related sounds great. She gets into the same kind of hypnotic rhythms that Swans gets into just with a cello and without any percussion. Probably the most interested I've ever been in an opener

I couldn't get into her. She got some very cool sounds out of the cello but the total lack of structure was too much for me, there were parts where it felt like she was just making weird noises for their own sake

I like the rhythmic parts anyway. Some of the purely noisy parts are hit or miss
