Anyone else notice the differences between the Loveless and Tremolo EP versions of To Here Knows When? Other than the different codas, I've noticed the Tremolo version features an additional Bilinda vocal track that pans back and forth in the chorus.
>>
Dalek have often been compared with My Bloody Valentine, they use a similar kind of wall of noise, but for hip hop music.
The question remains: is this /shugazi/ ?

>>
>>74784242
They were relatively successful for the early crop of shoegazers. That's really what it has most in common with the others (though Slowdive were latecomers to the scene by comparison). The "britpop with reverb" meme is pretty accurate imo, and I can't imagine that their marginal appeal to more mainstream audiences wasn't a factor in their enshrinement as shoegaze royalty. I don't even take issue with their status; I don't particularly enjoy their music but there's no arguing that they were a seminal band in the genre. For better or worse, shoegaze wouldn't be what it is today without Ride.

Honestly I think BCC doesn't deserve the flack it gets. Sure it may not be as good as some of their other work, but it's one of the few albums with some substance and real genuine personal emotion. give one of these charts a try
start with loveless and souvlaki then just work your way around depending on what you liked/disliked

Not autistic, disassociative and possibly on the path of psychosis.
Autism might lead to that too, but it also might be manic depression, schizoid personalities and trauma related (in my case especially).

Anything like Kyuss only more shoegazey?
>>
>>74821761
It has that droney, textural aspect though. And the wall of sound thing.

I'm not sure. It's almost an exotic form of shoegaze.
>>
>>74778242

Anything like this but more shoegazey.
Basically that atmosphere behind the jungle breakbeat.
>>
>>74821886
It depends on if you lose your mind and drown.
Some swim gracefully. Some lose their minds.

As for autism, autists tend to not swim at all.. which is odd. So I guess they listen to shoegaze differently to how I do it. I get swept by the colours of the sound.
>>
>>74821721

>>74819695
Haunting is easily in my top 3 shoegaze songs. Up Home is a great EP. Butterfly Catcher is a great concept but not sure about the execution, specifically the screaming kinda throws me off. Not really a fan of their albums.
>>
I'm trying to round out my shoegaze collection with more mainstream bands that either did one or two shoegaze albums or have stuff with even slight shoegaze influences. Here's the ones I know of, let me know if you guys can think of some more.

>The Smashing Pumpkins
>Yo La Tengo
>Silversun Pickups
>Coldplay - Ghost Stories (That's the SG one, right?)

If you're looking for Coldplay's shoegaze song, it's in VLV (2nd half of Yes)
add Pablo Honey (Blow Out)
