Great all the way through, but I feel like the ending dropped off really hard as soon as GAMBA started. Like, everything up to that point was solid, but I didn’t like the switch to like the autotuned meoldies immediately.

Question for anyone who has listened to it:

How Alt R&B heavy is this one compared to Saturation I? Songs like FACE, for example.
>>
i don't like the 90s boyband parts and the autotune songs at the end other than that it's decent
>>
>>74762272
Agree with this, the best of both combined would be out of this world.
>>
>>74762145

fucking FIRE, I like it waaay more than the first one

>>74763480

I'm like halfway through and there has been only one RnB track, it's practically all bangers
>>
does it bother anyone else that they released a second, full-length three months after their first? Doesn't it seem to soon?
>>
Omg you fantano dick riders are pathetic. Can't you lot from your own opinions?
>>
>>74763503
>like halfway through
doesn't say much, the RnB tracks were on the 2nd side of Saturation I anyway

>>74763508
Just from a surface level it seems like they could have just taken the best tracks from both (or maybe 3 projects) and make one super album, seeing as they're capable of making a lot of music quickly.
>>
>>74762596
kind of agree. gamba was really weak imo, but i think the other two may grow on me. the rest of the album was killer though.
>>
>>74763480

If you're asking if Abstract continues to to shamelessly bite from Blonde the answer yes but less so.
>>
My question is. Where are the bangers? There isn't one banger on this whole album.

This album is not as beat driven as the previous. A lot of songs jump right into the lyrics without letting the beats settle and impress you. I was hoping for a banger like star or bump. Overall, I just don't think the track listing is as diverse as the previous.

6.5/10
>>
>>74763539

well I'm on track 13 of 16 and still no RnB stuff, don't feel like it's heading that way either

but I feel you, the RnB stuff was my least favorite parts of the first one

there is a track that has a sitar sample which is really cool

honestly the beats and rapping are just fantastic. lyrically it doesn't have a TON of depth but I think it's meant to be a turn up album rather than something artsy.

it's like trap-ish but it actually has great non-muble/autotune rapping and great beats

What's the appeal? It's just so.... normal. I have no desire to listen to it again. I expected something much more inspired, especially from a group as hyped up as Brockhampton. Instead I got a couple of dime-a-dozen "bangers" that I can't even remember. I guess they really are the new Odd Future- everyone will forget about them in a year.

the majority of artists who ride on "bangers" are just autotune/mumble shit. Brockhampton are basically pushing bangers to a new level.

>>
6.5/10
>>
>>74764884

you're still not answering my question

I'm asking you to show me an album that proves Saturation II isn't unique/good

and you are not doing that

if it hasn't been done as well as it is on this album before, then the album is important, even if you don't consider it to be great.
>>
>>74764912
i never intended to senpai. i still think it's a good album btw.
>>
>>74764749
>>74764912
That wasn't me who posted the response. First of all, I wouldn't say Brockhampton put all that much effort into this new album at all, nor would I say there's much quality material. It doesn't sound fresh, either- like I said, it sounds stale, generic, and boring. Secondly, let me actually answer your question. I suppose Good Kid Maad City is the first example to come to mind (even though I didn't really love it, it undeniably had SOME thought put into it, and is filled to the brim with bangers). Another example is the new Milo album- it's a perfect example of a recent album that sounds both fresh and novel, and undeniably had a great deal of effort put into it. Musically, it's on a whole different level than Saturation 2, but it fits the criteria (depending on whether you consider it's tracks "bangers" or not). Also it has great lyrics.
>>
>>74763605

>>74764935

what the fuck

those albums barely have any bangers

they are nothing like Saturation II

although I do love them
>>
Why are people itt judging this album by whether it has "bangers" or not?
>>
>>74764978

white people think bangers make an album good
>>
>>74764935
Oh, and one more- Niggas on the Moon. Sure, meme grips made it, but that doesn't detract from the absolute quality of the album. I'd consider every song on there to be a banger it its own way (don't tell me Black Quarterback doesn't fucking bang), and it definitely sounds fresh, despite being 3 years old now. It has a distinct sound that has been completely unmatched since then. Does it sound trendy? Nah. Much less trendy than the new Milo album, and even that's pretty out-there. Is that a bad thing? Of course not. In this day and age, hip-hop's a genre in desperate need of experimentation.
>>
>>74765036

NOTM is like full on experimental hip-hop, I am not seeing the comparison to Brockhampton, and I wouldn't call anything on NOTM a banger, I don't think you even understand what a banger is at this point

>>74765067
>I don't think you even understand what a banger is at this point
Honestly, you're probably right, though I wasn't exactly saying anything on NOTM sounded like Brockhampton. Of course it doesn't. I was simply saying it fit your criteria in my opinion, which was that it had to sound fresh and modern, while also having obvious effort put into it (I'll admit at first I missed the part where you said it had to sound "trendy", but whatever). I suppose my definition of banger is much more broad. I still think NOTM has alot of tracks that "bang", but maybe I'm completely wrong. Perhaps "danceable" would be a better term to apply here? I'm honestly not the biggest hip-hop fan, so I guess the discrepancy makes sense. Oh well.
>>

>>74764067

>>
>>74765223

"banger" to me means like, something you can put on at a house party, or in the car with friends, or to listen to while you work out or something.

but like, Brockhampton is making bangers that have actual SUBSTANCE, which is what I really like,

>>
>>74771154

I will check it out

>>74771433

>Rodeo, Imperial, Flockaveli, DropTopWop

...are not anywhere near at the level of either rapping or lyrical proficiency as Brockhampton.

although I guess Freddie Gibbs kinda counts? I don't know if I'd call many of his songs bangers though
>>
>>74771495
Not the guy you're responding to, but Denzel is a better rapper than most of Brockhampton.

He is guilty of rapping gibberish sometimes to fit into his rhyme scheme, but apart from that he is pretty good. The comparison between Denzel and Brockhampton isn't terrible desu, although Imperial isn't the album that I'd use. I think that guy just named the highest rated RYM Trap albums that weren't mumble rap.
>>
This is undeniably better than the 1st one, real question is how the fuck is 3 gonna live up to this?
>>
>>74771495
Brockhampton doesn't even make good bangers though. The production on Rodeo is leagues better than anything Saturation has ever had, Denzel is a better lyricist than Brockhampton as a whole, and Flocka and Gucci have better flows than anyone in that group
>>
>>74771921
>Flocka and Gucci have better flows than anyone in that group

haha are you serious right now?
>>
>>74771543
yeah you caught me, I'm guilty of using RYM, but that's just cus I haven't listened to any hip-hop music in a while and I just needed something to go off of, and judging by that guys taste he's probably not gonna like mumble rap
but scrolling by my library, I can find many more albums that have better bangers than Brockhampton.
YG's albums
Denzel Curry's albums
Maxo 187
Divine Council's discography, ICYTWAT's MILK as well
Freddie Gibb's Shadow of a Doubt and You only live 2wice
Skepta - Konnichiwa
don't forget classics like Mystic Stylez, Da Devil's Playground, Ridin Dirty, etc.
hell if you want reddit tier garbage, even Run The Jewels has better bangers than Brockhampton
Even though I don't fuck with Brockhampton, I can see there appeal at times, but no matter how many times I listen to this, I don't think any of it slaps particularly hard. Gold is catchy and Star is kinda tight, but the rest is extremely mediocre

It's great. They thankfully ditched a lot of the alt-R&B shit that held back the first album, but they still have some work to do before they drop a masterpiece. I feel like if they compiled all their best tracks onto one album rather than trying to make three albums, they'd be better off.
>>
