I was hoping that someone here on /mu/ would be able to help me out in finding a song that my dad used to play all the time.
It's a classic rock song (I want to say it was recorded in the mid 60's but that's just a guess) and it starts out with a fast high pitched guitar riff like helter skelter by the beatles. After searching about for a while the only other songs that I have found that even come close are sylvia by focus and roxanne by the police but helter skelter come the closest by far

How about instead you help me find that more recent sad song. Kind of has an Native American/Indian vibe to it, it's used all the time for sad moments, or realizations, a new start, etc. I feel like it's heavily used on youtube, and movies, TV shows. It's popular.
I could be wrong but the artist name is similar to Evalon or something..? Avalon??? I just can't remember. What's frustrating is how common it is.

Can you describe the song more?
It's not I'm Waiting for the Man is it?
