Why did Kool Keith never get big, despite being better than Outkast?

most of his shit flies over people's heads, both figuratively and literally

on that note I just think he's too weird to garner widespread appeal. he's a genius tho

I expected Dr. Octagon to be horrorcore like Gravediggaz or Geto Boys. Not exactly like them, but dark lyrics about death and violence. Instead, I get "DOODOO! and "EARTH PEOPLE FROM NEW YORK AND CALIFORNIA EARTH PEOPLE I'M FROM JUPITER!".

His rhyme schemes were wack too.
