A lot of music requires context to properly enjoy, that isn't included with the music itself.
How do I acquire context?

if music requires context there's a 100% chance it either already sounds outdated or is soon to become outdated

Music should only be judged by the music, not its context. That said, if you want to find out about the context, check Wikipedia

why hold them as mutually exclusive that you take interpretation with and without context to be irreconcilable?

not really people like john cage's music was about the fundementals of human existence and relationship to sound in general. an artist like james ferraro for example deals with contemporary issues regarding the rapid progression of technology and how it relates to human existence, philosophical questions present now but also relevant since the begining of modern science and that will be well into the future....
I don't mean context like this only.
Sometimes knowing about the world the artist lived in is essential, especially for old music.

You must be retarded. Right off the top of my head, playing instruments to a competent level is going to change your context and outlook on music you may have previously dismissed due to your limited vision and experience.
