Was this justified?
Yeah, I enjoy it, but it does fall into the most tired categories of pop punk and emo.
7/10 is a fair rating for that album desu

Pitchfork is full of edgy hipsters who like to pretend they have better taste than everyone else, but they really don't. Deja Entendu is not a perfect album, and it's not even the best mixed or best recorded album. It doesn't do a whole lot of revolutionary things, but it was highly influential when it came out and the impact and lasting cultural influence isn't something to turn your nose up to. I think it deserves at least a 7.5 if not a little higher. 6.9 is the ultimate "Yeah it's good but we're smarter than you." Just be honest and give the album the rating it deserves.
Granted, everyone will have opinions about the album, and none of those opinions are objective. Rating systems are honestly fucked, and I don't believe they truly work. Pitchfork sucks because it's not a unified voice. At least with Fantano you know what you're getting.
TL;DR rating systems suck

devil and god should have been higher though and science fictions should have been lower
Was this justified?

Doesn't matter what Pitchfork thinks, it's a 10/10 to me.

8.5
With pitchfork you need to always add .2
>Deja
7.1
It works
Deja was great, but let's all just be honest too. I'm just happy I am a nightmare wasn't the overall sound of SciFic. We dodged a bullet fellas.
Sounds about right. It's just pop punk pap for teens.
