>tfw been listening obsessively to Swans again
Gira has such a comfy voice, I can't resist
Why did this deserve its own thread?

why didn't it?
I just wanted a comfy Michael Gira/Swans thread
>>74710213
which is best album?
the seer is too spooky 4 me
>>74710244
better than the current state of shitposting
>>74710285
his best albums are the spooky ones anon
If you want something easy to listen to try Great Annihilator or White Light
>>74710336
not that anon but white light feels like one of the weakest swans albums for me. i like a lot of the songs and i want to like the album as whole but i feel like the songs go on for too long and it sounds pretty cheesy at points. do i just have to listen to more gothic rock or children of god to understand it?

>tfw voice isn't deep enough to sing along to The Sound

I can see what you mean but I like it, just because it seems like the lightest of their work. It's like this peaceful interlude between their Industrial albums and SoTB.
If you haven't, give Children of God a try. It's one of my favorite albums of theirs and easily in the Top 5. It also has, imo, the heaviest song Gira has done (Beautiful Child) on it.

when i say weakest too i mean in swan's discography. it's a good album but i just haven't gotten into the whole children of god to the great annihilator era of swans, with the exception of killing for company

Gira's voice is wonderful. It's not technically impressive and he doesn't have much range, but he uses what he has extremely well and the bassiness in his voice is incredibly commanding, which is perfect atop their chaotic music
