How can I become a recording/audio engineer?

It depends on what you mean. If you mean "how do I learn to engineer music" then you can just buy the required gear and start doing it. If you mean "how do I get a job as an audio engineer" it helps to get a degree or a certificate in music production or something, then it's pretty easy to get a job working in a recording studio or a live venue or a radio studio or something like that, because you'll have the required skills and you'll have the academic credits too, e.g. your employer will see that you have a degree or a certificate so they know you're good for the job, or your teacher/lecturer will tell people they know about you.

Find a studio near you and intern there. That's what I did and now I work as an audio engineer. I also got a degree in music production but it wasn't necessary in my case. Studios vary in how much prior knowledge you need in order to intern there.
