I know people who are into Tumblrcore, it makes them feel different from others who listen to even more mainstream stuff (Britney, Rihanna...) because it's unknown indie for them. They are still on the tip of the music iceberg, but by not knowing that there is a lot more, they feel like they are at the bottom already.

The positive side is that Crybaby got a lot of mainstream-listeners into concept albums, which is pretty nice imo.
