Have this old receiver. It turns on and stuff, but when I plug my headphones in I hear nothing. When I turn the volume to max without, I hear a staticy and clacking noise coming from inside the receiver. What would your diagnosis of this be? What other info might you need to diagnose the problem?

Open n check the wiring to the jack could be loose after some years or if u want give it a good smack near that area n jiggle around in the port lol but I don't recommend

I have an old receiver like OP's but when I connected it to my speakers and my Computer it sounded all watery. Does that mean I need a new receiver or what?

could prob be a bad connection or electrical issue. don't attempt to fix this yourself. that looks nice, I'd take it in/to somebody who knows how to fix these things.
