say what you want about chief keef but he's probably one of the last genuine rappers that went from being a street nigger to a millionaire. even if most his listeners were cultural tourist to black peoples barbaric gang culture in chicago, the guy channeled all this negativity into his creative process and influenced a shit ton of new rappers. obviously there are more guys that really shaped the industry, but i think he's the best example.

lil yachty, chance the rapper, etc.. are all trust fund kids that took advantage of black people being seen as cool and trendy. i can't believe someone like kanye values and works with them. i hope he is being forced to because mainstream rap music has been going down the gutter since 2011 and so is the entire hip-hop industry. there hasn't been a single forward thinking hip-hop release in over half a decade.
