Vernon's an easy guy to kick in the balls because he's a white dude of no particular grit who sings in an upper register, but so's Paul Simon and countless other singers who went on to get recognized as great talents. I don't think he's written anything PARTICULARLY noteworthy, but I really like how his voice sounds. Probably the best thing he's done is Woods, so he's more of a really likable instrument than a songwriter to me.
