You're just a hipster. I have experienced something similar, but very different though.
If you come into a group, which enjoys something (music for example) in a normie way, you have liked for a long time. They make pleb jokes and alike, and treat you as someone, who doesn't get it, although you have had interest in this topic much longer and know much more about it than them, but can't express it, because you have autism.

I'm the opposite. I've been trying to get my normie friend into patrician music but I get annoyed every time I catch him falling back to something dumb and mindless (I watch what he listens to on Spotify at all times).
