post your favorite bassist
The best member of The Smiths. Not by much, Marr's just behind.
>let's chop the bottom two strings off a guitar, pitch it down an octave, and call it a new instrument
how does anyone take bass seriously lmao. Any competent guitarist can pick up and play a bass but I'd like to see a "bassist" play an intricate fingerstyle piece after going ba-dum ba-dum like an arsehole for their entire lives
https://youtu.be/5A4_TxChxTA where as Phil Lesh isn't my favorite bassist, he is amazing, also the tone Is to cum for.

Maybe, but the way Rourke plays bass is actually top tier just by itself. Marr comes really close, honestly, though it's a matter of me preferring Rourke's sound. Marr is still one of the best guitarrists of all time, though. Can't deny that.

I do love Rourkes playing too. funny He was the one who taught Marr to play guitar back in grade school. And I agree his style was amazing and important to the bands tightness and sound
