Fuck. They don't even add their own drums. Literally take a pre existing song and add a pre existing drum break to it.
So glad Hip Hop has evolved past this shit.

The album has anywhere from one to six different samples in a given track. On the ones with little sample amounts, there's obviously custom drums added to it. Not only that, there are albums from artists like De La Soul, Public Enemy, and Beastie Boys who have a fuck ton more samples than the overwhelming majority of sample based music period. Old School sampling is far more sophisticated and requires more skill. Only a couple groups today like clipping. do that style really well or to the next level.

That's pretty much WHY they sampled for the most part, Drum machines weren't as common as they are now days.
