Sound quality is mushy. You need to use DAW and with little bit of effort you can get killer or at least way better tone. Clean up low and high a bit and filter out unwanted noise. But anyway what some of these shitposters tell you about jcm900 not being good that's just bullshit. You can sound good on any amp if you know what you are doing.

First it would be from my favorite music influences and music that resembled what i was going for. But what i find to really help is going outside of my music comfort zone and listening to all kinds of music even some i despise. And also JCM800-900 sounds best when played with high volume, or that's the case with all tube amps though. You should add attenuator to the mix if you plan to play and practice through the amp. If I were you I'd also look into a decent multifx solution like Boss GT8 or Digitech GNXR4 instead of playing with tons of pedals. You could get something used for pretty cheap especially if you buy older model but make sure to do research before spending any more money.

G&Ls are pretty well regarded. The Tribute models made in Indonesia (earlier ones were made in Korea) are a cut above your average Squier or Mexican made Fender. If you're just starting out I'd suggest you get a used G&L Tribute model off ebay or reverb and maybe set aside $50 for a guitar tech to set it up. G&Ls aren't really marketed that well so they don't seem to hold their value as well as they should. Good if you want to buy one, bad if you're selling one.
