Good picks my dudes
Mine's Mogwai - Young Team, but I can't seem to find the pic anywhere on my phone.
Science Fiction
>>74629170
>>74629323
Very good choices. Disintegration is my third favorite album.
It informs what I want to do with the music I make.
>>74629323
muh nigga
>>74629493
Brand New?
>>74629142
Used to be this for the longest. Then I realized Dummy was more consistent even though Mezzanine has more stand-out tracks.
>>74629554
Definitely up there
>>74629703
Excellent record, I admire Beth's performance everytime I listen to Dummy. I'm just always amazed by the quality of the production in Mezzanine. Also the dark slow creeping atmosphere it's a monster album.

Impossible for a hip hop record to get any better than this
>>74630516
Honestly I have listened to it yet, on my list.
But my favorite hip hop record for the moment is this.
>>74630620
Best 4€ ever spent
Daddy G,
Stop messing with politics, stand neutral and embrace the new cyber revolution.
It starts with a natural conclusion.

>>74630516
This and Illmatic are god tier.
>The Game & 1dime2brag
unapologetically
>>74631664
I like Illmatic, excellent.
>>74630516
I agree
Mezzanine is such a great fucking album. It's the perfect thing for the long night rides on buses or trains.
>>74630516
Black on both sides by Mos Def maybe?

>>74631687
Nice.
>>74631740
The beat switch on rising son is godtier
>>74629554
>>74631775
these are 10s for me too lads
>>74631740
It's the only album I would give a 10.
Drums are god tier. Samples are god tier. Vocals are god tier. Ambience is god tier. Atmosphere is god tier. Cover Art is god tier. Even the fucking interludes are god tier. And it samples fucking metal gear solid and is the best dubstep album of all time. Objectively God tier album.
>>74631946
I respect your opinion.
It's a very good rainy night/cold day album, I quit enjoy it. It's not a monster album like Mezzanine.
>>74629142
No matter how much I enjoy other albums, even my other favorites, nothing comes close to this.

>>74631687
I first listened to this because /mu/core or something. It's still my favorite record to this day. 21st century schizoid man is everything I ever wanted in a single song
>>74631987
I think mezzanine has some god tier tracks, but some of its tracks ruin the album. They had the genius idea to play the worst song on the album twice, which already went on for too long the first time. Exchange is horrible and takes me right out of the atmosphere that was built up in the first few tracks, and then they put it at the end of the album too. Some tracks are boring and uninspired also. Plus blue lines is better.
Listened to it because of the cover.
Blew my fucking mind, man.
>>74631786
That's a good one as well.
>>74631946
Why isn't dubstep more like this?
>>74631946
>vocals are god tier
>"can't take my eyes off you" pitch shifted and repeated over and over til the song ends
Gonna have to disagree with you, man. I hated the vocals.
>>74632113
I see Exchange as an interlude that divides the two phases of the album.
I personally don't hate a thing about it. I also like the vocal of Horace Andy at the end of the album.
>>74632196
How's that different from actually singing? Plus they're amazingly mixed.
>>74632196
Isn't that just the same as daft Punk? And don't tell me they don't have god tier vocals.
>>74629703
This
These are a also good picks

>>74629519

This was one of my first non-normie albums and I loved it.
Flying Lotus seems to keep throwing similair sounds from this into his new music but it isn't as good.

Illmatic is shit. Some of the shittiest beats on the planet.

Then why not make it spoken word, it would sound better
Recs please. Looking for jammy jazz-rock
>>74635985
10/10
>>74635985
Pretty cool album. 6/10
>>74636307
They are arguably some of the best soul/jazz sampled boom bap beats on a rap album, but I guess that's just your opinion that they are some of the shittiest beats on the planet
But I am honestly interested in hearing what beats you think are actually good, I've been too busy listening to shitty ones

>>74629142
Home run of an album
>>74629478
Wait why is this cover mirrored?
>>74632113
I think it's fine the first time, as it splits the album and in a longer run doesn't feel as "joyful" as it first seems, but I never really listen to the last Exchange anymore (even thought I like it more with the vocals). I always thought Group Four is the perfect closer for the album anyways.
>>74637988
>>74637992

>>74645083
Brilliant album
>>74645083
Godtier
50 min or prog perfection
Lot of good stuff in here. We are smart and cool.
Was listening to this in its entirety during my long commute to work almost every day for months when it came out. Never got tired of it. Still listen to it fairly often.
>>74633228
Flying Lotus is normie as fuck. Just ask any college student who habitually takes psychedelics "just cause man"
>>74638985
Dude dude what if bowed guitars LMAO. Trash album. Throw it in the trash.
