The big bands like AnCo/Grizzly Bear/so many others from the late 2000s shit the bed with their follow up records.Pitchfork buzz bands like Wavves/Real Estate/Best Coast/etc. are no longer cool or interesting and a lot of bands just sound like that. Artists like Mac Demarco who are somewhat relevant just make the same shit over and over and repeat the formula like the aforementioned buzzbands. There hasnt been a classic indie record in a long time, just adhering to a safe Pitchfork friendly formula.
