ITT: Post albums that you liked when the first came out but have lost their luster/novelty over the years
I was pretty obsessed with this album when it came out because of its use of really unconventional sounds and textures. It created a heady soundscape that blended primal/natural sounds through drones and beats with artificial, 90's flavored sampling. Not to "lol drugs", but Nickelodeon on an acid trip basically.
Now listening to it, the production is so lazy. What sounded "raw" before now just sounds to me like the samples were looped in Audacity without the removal of clicks and pops. Up is literally just one song, that is really only a loop, crossfaded into another song that's just some ambient noodling. Submersible and Explain are complete throwaway tracks. "Remember" is ironically the most forgettable track. Andro, Sleep Dealer, Replica, and Child Soldier are the only tracks that still hold up some merit for me, and it's not enough to save the whole album. It could've been a phenomenal EP if it was trimmed for the excess. It used to be my favorite OPN album, now it's one of my least favorites.

you are literally saying you wish the artist made the songs shorter for your liking. Please have this be your last post on /mu/ for a while. Thanks!

>being disappointed with artists that load an album with filler is ADHD now
/mu/ was a mistake
>>74608340
don't bother. /mu/ only knows a few electronic musicians and opn is one of them.
>>74608395
Thats fine because tons(the vast majority) of electronic music is monotempo lazy bullshit for people to dance to

"filler"
yeah i hate when my sample based ambient albums are weighed down by filler tracks
>>74608560
>implying ambient can't have filler
Tired Sounds of Stars of the Lid is an ambient album that's around two and a half hours long and has no filler. Replica is much shorter and does have filler.

That's just you aging into a pleb.

>disliking the only good drake release
Returnal > rifts > r+7 > replica > garden of delete
