Listen to pothole. While I still think "Rusty" is his best song, Tyler takes a whole different approach on this album.
The production was great, lyrics were good the features were alright.
It's a really solid album
hes black and gay
that alone is worth like 4 points
it makes peoples ears feel good

i think its just a really competently produced record with a bunch of really competent rapping from tyler the creator, there are few if any dud songs, and yeah he's all gay and shit. also the r&b is smooth.
Did the review say anything about him being gay? I don't know if this is just a meme on real. I haven't heard it.
good production dont care if he is a peter puffer it's his best record yet
Being gay is just a publicity stunt, he saw how big Frank made it after coming out so knew what he had to do.

i mean, i don't think its fair to reduce the album to "hey guys im gay/bi or whatever". it covers a wide range of topics. the production is great. so much better than what he did before. he goes in a bit more soul/rnb direction and he expanded on some of the things he did earlier in particular on cherrybomb. i feel like cherrybomb was his 808s kinda, where he layed the foundation but it just wasnt right yet.
i don't think the gay/bi think is a publicity stunt. it would be a bit elaborate even for tyler and desu if you look at him knowing that you can kinda see that yea he does seem a little gay. i don't think thhat should really be the focus of this album though. it kinda sucks that everyone is reducing it to that but it truly is a really good album.
fav tracks guys? mine is foreword.

November with Boredom as a runner up
I love this album cause it's like Blonde on steroids. Still as sincere, but it is lush and not minimalist, interesting drum patterns and other ear worms, the production is absolutely top notch.

>ear worms
stop this

On this album Tyler uses the same style of comedically ugly sounds that have been in all of his albums.
However, instead of stopping at the surface level of being ironic or edgy like his early work, he manages to make something that is sincerely beautiful on Flower Boy.
He scratches at this idea on Wolf and a few songs on Cherry Bomb, but a lot of those attempts could still warrant an eye roll. Flower Boy, on the other hand, feels completely aware of its own quirks and delivers a unique style with no pretension.
it could almost be considered a metamodernist hip hop album.
