This. Anyone who says otherwise is either Matt Colton in a mastering studio or a dumb rube. The vast majority of systems will actually reproduce a 192 file with higher THD than a 44 version of the same file because they aren't designed to accurately reproduce ultrasound above a certain threshold and the presence of those frequencies in the material causes distortions in the system's reproduction of the audible portion of the frequency range. There are strict blind tests around online where you can see for yourself whether you can tell the difference with any reliability. No one in this thread can tell the difference between a properly 320 LAME mp3 and FLAC, let alone 44 and 192, or 16/24 bit PCM.
