Is he the most important musician of the 21st century?
Yes.
Yes, saying otherwise is contrarian.
This image has to be staged.

Pretty sure here fall was staged for attention, but Kanye's reaction was genuine.

nah, it was just amy trying to be funny and kanye not giving her the attention she wanted

Yeah really. People that actually know him know that he revolutionized the game 5 times and everyone else just followed in his footsteps thereafter.
His debut album came out in 2004 and 6 years later he released his magnum opus. Now he's in the equivelent of his senior years just kind of dicking around and doing what he feels like.
Who else can compete?
Has he actually innovated anything in modern pop music?
I don't listen to any pop music, including rap/hip hop/dance, so I'm open to the idea that he's influential.
Objectively, yes. Anyone who disagrees is incorrect; Kanye and Kendrick will probably be the only musicians remembered from this era.

You forgot Drake.
whether he's good or not doesn't matter

Really, he's kinda disappeared off the radar after two over-hyped and horrible releases.
His influence isn't anymore than someone like Meghan Trainor or The Chainsmokers.
Are the people saying "yes" in this thread being ironic or is /mu/ mostly tweens? I don't come here often.
>>74597204
everybody has already forgotten about drake
Casablancas, Julien.
That or Frank Ocean.
Its literally Lil B and its contrarian to say otherwise. Kanye stole trends while B set them
