What are some prog rock albums/artists that feature the keyboard as a leading instrument?
Some features I would be looking for: emphasis on melody and atmosphere, strong classical or prog folk influence, and not too "busy" (includes passages of ambience or solo instrumental isolation)
Something along the lines of Genesis' "Trespass," and maybe Yes' "Close to the Edge," or some of the work of Banco del Mutuo Soccorso.
iirc
pretty much everything from ELP

What about picking a keyboardist you know you like, and visiting their solo work or with other groups.
I've never heard the Nice, Strawbs, or Badger, but I'm sure they have at least a few good key parts.
