ITT: Times when the most popular album choice might actually legitimately be the best one
Sadly, I think this will always be the high point of their career.

Hell, if we're talking about the whole "slightly rock opera-esque pop punk", 21st Century Breakdown beats it.

You're insane. Green Day after American Idiot is like Lindsay Lohan after Mean Girls.

>tfw this is a real opinion someone actually has

American Idiot surely had more energy in it than 21st Century Breakdown, straight from Track 1. Imo the ambiguity of AI's story worked to it's advantage, whereas 21stCB just came off as a shameless attempt to recreate the quality of the previous album (see Strange Days vs The Doors s/t).

I feel 21st Century Breakdown had the issue of being far too close to American Idiot in terms of release. I still prefer it because I feel it's slightly better, but you're right in that one can see it as an attempt to recreate American Idiot.

Definitely has some killer tracks. Murder City, Christians Inferno, and East Jesus Nowhere. Ever notice how Mass Hysteria sounds JUST like Deadbeat Holiday from Warning?

East Jesus Nowhere is an eternal jam.

How did I never notice that

Fuck yes. That is indisputably their best album. But is it the most popular choice though?
>>74592443
I'm not sure, I really liked the green album though

This is not Kerplunk
