paris 1919 is good, very good, but i dont think john cale made anything close to berlin or transformer. Metal machine music was INSPIRED by john cale's avant garde music so i cant say he didnt do stuff like MMM, because he did. sadly paris 1919 is the only thing that interests me in john cale solo, besides his absolutely amazing "new york in the 1960s' avant garde/drone/minimalism recording compilations from pre and post velvets.
