Can we talk about this record? I personally think it's pretty fucking fantastic. I'm just wondering if any non-musicians dig this as it is pretty proggy.
Anyway, it is some pretty serious growth from their previous records IMO. Really nice production too. Also I'm pretty sure these guys lurk here
It's okay. There are some cool moments on it. I liked it overall.
glad u like it
Their drummer is pretty fucking amazing

Ik /mu/ probably hates recommendations but I just discovered this band and I love them do you guys have any others you think I would enjoy of a similar style?
>>74582239
Fuck, I wish you had asked me this a couple of years ago. I haven't been listening to a lot of instrumental prog lately.
Definitely try out Plini. Sweet Nothings was his best IMO as some of the later records aired on the side of too dramatic for me. But you might love them.

thanks man I'll check em out

Different style but still interesting, check out Cloudkicker

I haven't listened to it yet. I really liked Chon in their demo days and while I think they're actually better now, I'm a bit annoyed by how most songs sound so similar, and the whole relaxation thing gets old quite fast for me.
Should I listen to it?
Also, the Chon guys post on /mu/ (you can find Mario shilling his SC years ago if you look in the archive).
It's sort of a mixed bag for me. The high points are really great, the low points border on actively awful. That said, it's a fun listen every once in a while, though I'd like if they were to push stuff beyond its "chill" atmosphere, kinda like how Newborn Sun did.

Yeah, listen to it. I think that they are starting to pay more attention to the actual sound of their instruments, effects, and such. Like there are different drum sounds on different tracks, for example.
That's hilarious and super interesting about Mario
Believe it or not, my DAD actually recommended this group to me the other day,
Listen to this and a few of their older releases and I really like them overall. Homey is definitely their best work, in my opinion. Good performances all around (especially the drums).

How did your dad discover them?

Listen to Covet. Theyre pretty similar and they even toured with Chon at one point iirc
