Disco was good until major record labels caught wind of it started putting out gimmick singles and forcing all their artists to jump on the bandwagon.

Sort of like how the Skrillex and the American mainstream bastardized dubstep.

Disco was better than any other crap that was popular in the late 70's, and when you consider how many would later copy or sample it, it had more longevity too.
