I know what you mean, but I do think it does have a distinctive New Order sound, especially in Chosen Time which sounds more like a house song than a Joy Division song.

Though I like individual songs from other albums a lot more than any one on movement, it's the only album aside from technique that feels fully coherent and flows well. As much as I love Power Corruption and Lies it's a bit of a mess

Listened to Movement, PC&L, Low-life and Substance and as of yet I can't decide which of them I like best as an album
Each one has a couple of god-tier tracks on it that I come back to a lot though

Probably right now I think Substance = PC&L > Movement > Low-life but that could change

Even though I think Bernard Sumner is a pretty trash singer, this set especially proves that honesty and emotion can sometimes trump vocal range and even hitting fucking notes

Absolutely. I don't even like him that much on the actual recordings and he can barely even sing here but god damn if it isn't amazing
Also anyone know any other albums like the first two New Order ones? I love the songs that mix the electronics and the post-punk stuff and I think they kind of leaned away from that side of their music after those two

Some of The Cure's stuff like Pornography I guess, but I've looked for the same kind of thing and I haven't had much luck

I've never been able to get much into The Cure. I feel like Seventeen Seconds is my favorite just because Disintegration is a little too long and Pornography is a little too glacial sometimes, but they're all good I just don't revisit them a lot.
I'll give them some more listens though

Music Complete was so much better than a New Order album without Peter Hook has any right to be.

I finally got around to listening to it last week and was genuinely impressed, I've been grooving to Tutti Frutti since then. It drags after People on the High Line though, if they released the first five songs as an EP it'd be perfect.
