I currently own a korg minilogue, and while its a great bread and butter synth, I want something that can make otherworldly sound effects.
So, what does Mu recommend?

you answered your own question faggot

I meant other recommendations, beyond my first choice, the pictured ms 20

you're not going to get anything more worthwhile for weird space noises than the ms20 for under $500
maybe the cheap odyssey reissue
and if your budget is big you might as well go modular

Figured, was kinda looking into the more experimental synths like the phenol or ants modular, hell I've even considered the mother 32, but it seems to bare bones.

Would if I could

ARP Oddyssey

Just about anything from Ciat-Lonbarde. Cocoquantus probably good place to start.
build his paper circuits if you can't swing cost of his production models yet.

Make noise 0-coast is quite affordable and can do both buchla blips and more east coast spacey stuff.

you can do that with the minilogue. learn about synthesis and watch tutorials.

You could try looking at getting a second hand FM synth. With an FM synth it will be easy to get strange sounds but it will be harder understand why you're getting said sounds. You can often get Yamaha DX's pretty cheap but condition may vary.
And as this guy >>74562967 said the 0-coast is worth having a look at. Fits into modular setups well but you can also control it with a midi keyboard. It'll let you create rather interesting timbres. i've also seen people patch it to do evolving soundscapes.

Ms 20 is great for this
>>74559362
go modular
that entire genre of instruments is dorks spending thousands of dollars to make fart noises
theres loads of modular synth shit out there
I had a MS20 mini
it sounded good but after fucking with it for a couple of months I realized all the sounds I was getting out of it were....all the MS20 sounds you've heard a billion times over
in a general view the sounds were all pretty cliche. It wasn't nearly as flexible as I had thought.

its fucking semi modular dude, i've owned one for 15 years and still surprise myself. you just suck at programming
FM will get you some otherworldly sounds for cheap
