Is this soundtrack the true definition of patrician?
It is unironically good, I never played it so I don;t have nostalgia goggles for it. Legitimately good ost.

Honestly can't get into DKC. Compared to the other SNES classics it's total shit, the platforming is terrible, the camera is too jerky when switching directions and prerendered graphics look bad compared to great sprite art
I swear I remember somewhere as a little kid playing a version of that red light/green light level that had the Beatles Hello Goodbye as the soundtrack. I think it was in an arcade cabinet and might have been a cover. Did I just dream that or what?

Genesis music all sounds the fucking same. Are you crazy.
Nothing compares to the SNES, if we're talking pre-CD video game soundtracks.

First Sonic had sweet music, though.
That final Final Zone Eggman theme is cool as fuck.

There is still one that is more patrician.

All this hate for DKC the game.
It is kinda slow, platform wise. It was like the best Christmas when got this as a little jimmy, though.
DKC2 is the better game, and the better soundtrack. Easily. They ditched clunky ass Donkey Kong and gave you Dixie, who was quick and could float with her hair.

No DKC2 is superior
I may have nostalgia goggles as this was my favourite childhood game and the one that introduced me to RPGs, but it's a very nice melody for a 90s bleep bloop tier video game song. It's the song that plays at the ending when the credits roll.

Fun fact: Michael Jackson composed music for Sonic 3. As that happened when he was charged for cp'ing children, Sega terminated their relationship and never revealed it, fearing a backlash

They improved the formula over the next two games though. All the OSTs are great. DKC 3 has the best game design, but its hard to choose which soundtrack is the best. David Wise and Eveline Fischer went toe to toe back in the 90s.
>>74555322
Its amazing that David Wise was able to create such a great sounding song with SNES soundchip tech. That synth bass gaining that res always astounds me. Rare music really gave Koji a run for his money back in the day.

>Genesis music all sounds the fucking same
A lot of SNES music sounds mostly the same too, it's specially noticeable in tracks that use orchestral instrumentation, at least Genesis benefits from being a synth and sounding more vibrant, it helps that a lot of japanese games for it had many good composers that worked directly with the hardware and avoided using preset sounds. Not really dissing the SNES here just saying that a good Genesis track still sounds as good as the day the game came out while SNES ones are more hit and miss since only very specific games shaped their sound around the sample quality of the console, it was fine in slower paced games which was one of the selling points of the console after all but many action ones could have been better.
