Did this collab doom her to mediocrity?

Somehow forgot about this album, but just listened to it again. It's more in keeping with her Marry Me/Actor sound so I guess /mu/ wouldn't hate it that much in retrospect.

I guess it opened up the opportunity for her to get "weird," which in her case wasn't that weird but the mainstream ate it right up.

Update: I like this album now.

The guitar tone on "The Forest Awakes" is great, why didn't she ever do that again.

The album comes perilously close to horn overkill.

Love This Giant is an amazing album and I go back to it more than any of their solo works. Byrne's tracks are the superior ones though.
