Post the most depressing moving albums you know. Preferably punk, post punk, hardcore or post-hardcore.

not the styles you mentioned but anyone getting into intensely sad music should know this

unknown pleasures is still one of my favorite albums of all time

nothing about UP is fucking depressing. jfc ppl have abused this word so much its a meme
>>
>>74535065
The tone is not depressing, it's depressed. It's music by a depressed man not for depressed men (this would still be apparent ignoring Ian Curtis's personal life all together). The lyrics tie it together in this way.
>>
>>74535109
again UP doesn't show any of it.
Closer would actually be accurate

It lyrically does from the get go. Disorder onwards is purely about depression. Not to say closer isn't darker/better at expressing this but UP is entirely about disconnection, depression, and loneliness.

Not him.
I can agree with this. UP has a more depressing feeling then lyrical content.
Closer seems more like a cry for help. They are both depressing just in different ways

One of the best in the game.

>but UP is entirely about disconnection, depression, and loneliness.
but again Closer literally has a song called isolation

half of the Cure's discography is worth for that title

Faith is even more depressing and less dramatic though, especially All the Cats are Grey and The Funeral Party.Pornography, while pessimistic and desperate as fuck,it's literally a punch of existentialism in the face

both really good

for me Faith sounds like depression, bleakness, uncertainty, pure loneliness. Pornography is his twisted anxious brother. It's a more dirty and desperate kind of mood. Both great tho, but I think Pornography has more impact and is better overall
>>
>>
>>74535497
can't argue with their qualities
just that Pornography is such a low mentality level, almost like making it through the edge that it's barely likely you can get those absurd levels of depression in your life

it makes you depressed, but at the same time, relieved.Relieved because it makes you think that there are people who've had it much worse than you in comparison.

It doesn't make your situation any better, but you realize you cannot get there easily like Robert did.
>>
>>74535542
>depressing
saturate everything in reverb and use a good riff over and over until it sucks
>>
>>74535370
Yes but this doesn't stop UP from also being depressing. No one brought up closer aside from yourself after you said UP wasn't depressing.
>>
>>74535008
No Trend - Too Many Humans is what you're looking for. They were the best at the whole nihilism schtick. Start with their song called Teenage Love if you like Joy Division.

this also my nigga
